After inking their first collaboration last year, London’s Trapstar and Harlem’s Ed Hardy have reunited for a sophomore capsule collection, or what they’re calling a “wardrobe that refuses to sit still,” channeling the African diaspora’s cultural power.
“The collection is inspired by my diaspora upbringing and what I saw back home in Ghana, the mix of fabrics like denim, camo, and durable materials, and the idea that when you don’t have much, you make it work,” said Mikey Trapstar, co-founder of Trapstar. “There are no rules, you put it all together at once. We carried that spirit into this collaboration while paying homage to Ed Hardy’s bold imagery.”
Imbued with Ed Hardy’s signature tattoo-style motifs and Trapstar’s London streetwear signs, the lineup features myriad hero items, like camo Lover Boy MA jackets, diamanté-detailed Dead or Alive Hoodies, and Hell Cat Cargos. Aiming to capture music, sport, and fashion audiences alike, the capsule arrives alongside a campaign starring two heavyweights: chart-topping rapper Sheck Wes and English footballer Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Lee Trapstar added, “Sheck and Aaron are both friends of the brand which made this collaboration feel natural. They each brought their own energy and style to the project—Sheck with that Harlem rawness, Aaron with his London edge. They represent the diaspora in different ways and that’s exactly what we wanted to capture with this collection.”
The Trapstar x Ed Hardy 2.0 collection is now available to shop exclusively on Trapstar’s webstore. Take a look at the lineup above.
