EXCLUSIVE: A. Smith & Co. Productions, the company behind American Ninja Warrior, is promoting from within.
The company, which also makes Hell’s Kitchen for Fox and Floor is Lava for Netflix, has upped Tim Dix to VP, Development. He was previously Director of Development and Programming, a position that he’s held since 2023.
He reports to Eli Baldrige, EVP, Development, who himself was upped to that position earlier this year.
Since joining the company he has helped develop and sell series to Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery as well as helping to secure partnerships with talent and other organizations.
Before joining A. Smith & Co., he was a co-exec producer on Discovery’s BattleBots and spent seven seasons on the company’s NBC series American Ninja Warrior.
“Tim has a remarkable talent for turning exceptional ideas into reality,” said Baldrige. “His hard work, passion and creativity have fueled a diverse slate of projects, from formats to docuseries – some of which will be coming very soon. We’re thrilled to see him step into an elevated role, where his vision and leadership will continue to push A. Smith & Co. into exciting new territory.”
“I’m incredibly honored to begin the next chapter at A. Smith & Co. and to continue building alongside such a talented team,” added Dix. “This company has an extraordinary legacy of boundary-pushing entertainment and a culture where no idea is too big. I couldn’t be more excited to expand on that and help shape what’s ahead.”
