Sky has composed some first-look photos from the set of Amadeus, the limited series starring Will Sharpe as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The White Lotus and Too Much star will play the musical genius alongside Paul Bettany (WandaVision), as envious court composer Antonio Salieri, and Gabrielle Creevy (In My Skin) as Constanze Weber, Mozart’s fiercely loyal wife.

Penned by Black Doves writer Joe Barton, Amadeus is a reimagining of Peter Shaffer’s award-winning stage play, and will expand and interrogate the mythic rivalry of the two composers.

Hero of his own story but villain to history, Salieri’s envy turns vengeful as he uses any means necessary to thwart Mozart and protect his position in the establishment.

Amadeus is produced by Two Cities Television (part of STV Studios) in association with Sky Studios. Megan Spanjian is executive producer for Sky Studios. Michael Jackson (Patrick Melrose) and Stephen Wright (Blue Lights) are executive producers for Two Cities Television. The series executive producer is John Griffin.

Julian Farino (Giri/Haji) and Alice Seabright (Chloe) will serve as directors. Barton, Sharpe, Bettany and Farino also serve as executive producers. Seabright also serves as co-executive producer. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is handling international sales of the series on behalf of Sky Studios.
