Former WWE star and current AEW producer Scotty 2 Hotty made his return to a Ring of Honor ring for the first time in 15 years on Wednesday. In a special moment, he teamed with his son, Keagan Garland, for the first time in the promotion.
The father-son duo competed at the ROH television tapings, which took place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, before the live AEW Dynamite broadcast.
A Family Affair
Scotty 2 Hotty and the debuting Keagan Garland teamed up to take on the duo of Jon Cruz and Bret Levi. The father-son team was successful in their outing, picking up the victory in a match that is expected to air on a future episode of ROH on HonorClub.

This was not the first time the two have teamed together. Garland, who was trained by former WWE and AEW coach Ace Steel, has previously tagged with his famous father on the independent circuit.

A Legendary Career
Scotty 2 Hotty is a beloved figure from WWE’s Attitude Era. As one-third of the wildly popular faction “Too Cool,” alongside Rikishi and the late Brian Christopher (Grandmaster Sexay), he was a multi-time tag team champion. The group was famous for their hip-hop-inspired dance moves and, of course, Scotty’s signature finisher, “The Worm.”
After retiring from full-time competition, he worked as a coach at the WWE Performance Center for several years before joining AEW as a backstage producer. This ROH match was his first for the promotion since a two-minute loss to Larry Zbyszko in January 2010.
The Next Generation
Keagan Garland is looking to follow in his father’s footsteps. The young, second-generation star has been making a name for himself on the independent circuit, particularly in Maine’s Limitless Wrestling, which is his father’s home state promotion. This debut in Ring of Honor is a major step forward in his young career.
The rest of the ROH taping featured a victory for Trish Adora and a brawl between Lance Archer and the Scottish independent wrestling legend, Grado.
