Technology will humble you, no matter who you are. Just ask Matt Leinart.

The 2004 Heisman Trophy winner was minding his own business at home one morning when his son asked Alexa, “Who’s Matt Leinart?”

From there, the Amazon voice-activated device dove into the University of Southern California alum’s football career and didn’t hold back.

“From rootsports.com, Matt Leinart was a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at USC and top 10 NFL draft pick, but his pro career didn’t amount to much,” Alexa explained.

Sitting at the kitchen table, Leinart chucked with his face in his hands.

“Really? Wow, Alexa’s rough,” he said after being speechless for a few seconds.

“Yikes! Oh well,” his wife, actress Josie Loren, said.

The Southern California native posted the interaction on Instagram with the caption, “Thanks for the reminder, Alexa,” alongside a crying laughing emoji.

Leinart played for the USC Trojans under legendary coach Pete Carroll from 2001 to 2005. He is one of the most decorated college football players in the sport’s history as he’s a College Football Hall of Fame inductee, a BCS National Champion and won two Associated Press National Championships as a quarterback with USC.

In 2006, Leinart was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals and spent four seasons with them as a backup for Kurt Warner. He went on to play for the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders. In 2013, he was briefly with the Buffalo Bills, but was released after just a few days with the organization.

Currently, he’s an analyst on Fox Sports’ college football pregame show “Big Noon Kickoff.”
