Summary

  • Inspired by Slantnose Porsche and fighter-jet design, limited to 26 units
  • 1,000 horsepower air-cooled twin-turbo flat-six, manual transmission
  • Carbon-fiber chassis, seven-speed manual, modern homage to 911 heritage

Gunther Werks lifted the curtain on its latest masterpiece, Project F-26, during Monterey Car Week. According to early reports, the 1,000 hp restomod draws direct inspiration from Porsche’s legendary Slantnose models like the 935 and 930 Turbo. Designed with a fighter jet’s aerodynamic silhouette in mind, its name nods to both speed and exclusivity, with production limited to just 26 units.

Built on a reinforced 993 chassis, the F-26 features a carbon-fiber body, fixed headlights (ditching the pop-ups for improved aerodynamics and to meet regulations), widened fenders and a prominent, high-downforce rear wing. Weighing in at approximately 2,750 pounds, it balances vintage design with modern engineering.

Under the hood sits a Rothsport Racing–co-developed, air-cooled 4L twin-turbo flat-six producing 1,000 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque. Power goes through a six-speed manual and limited-slip differential. Track-grade cooling, double-wishbone front suspension with adaptive JRZ dampers, motorsport ABS and flattened steering geometry highlight its serious handling upgrades.

Inside, the cockpit blends luxury and purpose: exposed carbon, custom leather, Alcantara headliner, a fighter-jet–inspired wheel, wooden shift knob and modern tech like Porsche Classic radio with Apple CarPlay. Project F-26 encapsulates Gunther Werks’ vision of preserving Porsche’s analogue heritage while pushing into hypercar territory. Details on pricing are yet to be announced at the time of writing.
