Ravens’ New Jaire Alexander Update Is Extremely Concerning

The Baltimore Ravens made a big splash this offseason when they signed star cornerback Jaire Alexander following his release from the Green Bay Packers.

While it was a big splash, it also came with some concern. Alexander has been unable to stay healthy over the last couple of years with the Packers, which was what led to his release from the team in the first place.

When healthy, Alexander is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Some would even argue that he’s the best. However, there are legitimate questions about whether or not he can get back to being that player.

Despite the questions, the Ravens decided to take a risk on Alexander. Whether or not that will pay off remains to be seen.

That being said, a new update has given Baltimore fans a major reason for concern.

Alexander has been missing practice time lately. A new update shared by head coach John Harbaugh revealed that the issue Alexander has been dealing with is “something he’s been dealing with for a few years.”

If this is the same nagging injury that caused Alexander to miss so much time with Green Bay, the Ravens might be in trouble.

Over the last two years with the Packers, Alexander has played in just seven games in each. Last season, he played well in those seven games, but his lack of availability hurt the team in a big way.

During the seven games that he played in 2024, Alexander racked up 16 total tackles to go along with a fumble recovery, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and seven defended passes.

Those numbers show a clear reason why Baltimore had so much interest in him. He also has a connection with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, as they were teammates during their days in college with the Louisville Cardinals.

Hopefully, this update ends up turning into good news with Alexander participating in practice and being back to his old self. That’s still possible, but the update from Harbaugh suggests that he might still be struggling with what has kept him out of games over the last two years.

Expect to hear more updates about Alexander in the near future.
