Grab your Pucci and Missoni: Palm Royale season 2 is officially back on November 12 on Apple TV+. Along with the premiere date and rollout schedule, Glamour has exclusive details from showrunner and creator, Abe Sylvia, and first-look photos with Emmy nominee Kristen Wiig as you’ve never seen her before.
The Emmy-nominated comedy series first premiered in March 2024 and follows Maxine Dellacorte (Wiig, also an executive producer) as she attempts to find her footing in the cutthroat world of Palm Beach high society. The finale of season 1 was explosive, complete with several cliffhangers, including Maxine agreeing to turn Norma’s (Carol Burnett’s) mansion into a club; Norma asking Robert (Ricky Martin) to marry her; Mitzi (Kaia Gerber) learning she was pregnant; Maxine finding out Douglas (Josh Lucas) was the father; Norma’s true identity as Agnes coming to light; and most shocking of all, Robert being left for dead on the stairs of the 50th Beach Ball after being shot by socialite Mary (Julia Duffy).
And now we’re finally getting answers. In Palm Royale season 2, Maxine is left a social pariah after that very public breakdown on stage at the Beach Ball. She’ll have to prove that not only does she belong, but she just might have what it takes to rule this town. In doing so, she’ll uncover untold truths and finally understand what Palm Beach is truly built on (secrets, lies, and the occasional felony, to be clear).
“It’s bigger; it’s a wild ride,” Sylvia tells Glamour of the upcoming sophomore season. “Maxine is going through a personal revolution that I think aligns perfectly with the dawn of 1970s consciousness. She becomes a more radical version of herself in her quest to belong. She’s like, ‘I’m just going to knock everything down and be a bull in a china shop to be accepted.’ It’s probably the way most of us go through life, if I’m being honest. Nobody knows how to get through a day without feeling a little foolish or a little bit inadequate.”
In Maxine’s attempt do so, she must grapple with the reveal that her husband, Douglas, cheated on her with her manicurist and friend, Mitzi, and they’re expecting their first child. But will she be doing so while mourning Robert, whose fate was left up in the air after being shot by Mary? Knowing how many questions need to be answered, Sylvia teases what’s in store, as well as the Taylor Swift The Life of a Showgirl connection to the new season, and the guest star lineup that will floor fans. Get ready; Palm Royale is coming in hot.
When will Palm Royale season 2 premiere?
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 12, 2025. There will be 10 episodes this season, which will roll out weekly. The season 2 finale will air on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Which cast members are returning?
Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Leslie Bibb, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Amber Chardae Robinson, Kaia Gerber, and Carol Burnett are included in Apple TV+’s official press release.
Is there a season 2 trailer?
Not yet, but it’s coming, and we’ll be posting it as soon as it becomes available.
Will Ricky Martin’s Robert survive being shot?
While Ricky Martin’s name is included in the cast list, that doesn’t necessarily mean Robert will survive. A lot will happen in the first episode, which will shed light on what’s to come. “It’s too much of a spoiler to say, but anything’s possible on Palm Royale,” Sylvia tells Glamour. And take it as you will, but Robert is not in any of the new photos released by Apple TV+. However, the woman who fired the gun that shot Robert—Julia Duffy’s Mary—is featured in two of the photos, and she’s clearly not in jail. So what gives? Will she face punishment? “You’ll find out in November,” Sylvia says coyly.
Is there going to be a time jump at the start of season 2?
“That would be a spoiler,” Sylvia says with a smile. Yes, it’s vague, but Sylvia says they were very conscious of not having anything be tidy at the end of season one. “We wanted the audience to go, ‘Wait, wait, what?!’ in anticipation of setting all of our characters up for an undeniable season 2.”
What will happen to Maxine and Douglas’s marriage?
Sylvia says that even with Douglas’s infidelity, he and Maxine are still deeply in love with one another. “Like any marriage that is long, it’s complicated. And I think people can really relate to that, because in life, bad things happen and people stick around, just as bad things happen and people break up. We were really excited to tell the story of a marriage that is deeply fractured, and yet these people are forever connected. The two of them to be wrestling with that all season.”
Mitzi is now expecting; how will that impact the Dellacortes’ marriage?
There are plenty of avenues Mitzi’s pregnancy can take, and Sylvia is thrilled that her portrayer, Kaia Gerber, will get more of a chance to shine this season. “I think people are going to be blown away by the evolution of that character and the supernova that is Kaia Gerber,” he says. “The wind is at her back, and it’s just so exciting to watch the rise of somebody who’s going to leave an indelible mark on this industry.” As for what’s to come with Mitzi, Douglas, and Maxine, Sylvia is remaining mum for now but says all will be revealed.
What’s the 411 on Norma/Agnes?
Sylvia says the big flip from season 1 to season 2 is that “Maxine has been accused of being an imposter trying to be just like Aunt Norma, only to find out that Aunt Norma is the biggest imposter of all.” The showrunner says the episodes will go deep into that storyline in season 2, giving the legendary Carol Burnett a lot to do this season after her character spent most of season 1 in a coma. “I’ve never seen any actor that is that on top of their lines and that on top of having a point of view about the character and yet walking on set and is everybody’s friend,” Sylvia says. “There aren’t enough superlatives for her.”
And what about Leslie Bibb’s Dinah?
Fresh off her role as one third of the frenemies trio on season 3 of The White Lotus, Leslie Bibb will shine even more as Dinah this season. “In season 1, every scene was driven by Maxine, [but] this season we’ve opened up the world, and Dinah, Evelyn (Allison Janney), Norma, etc., have their own storylines independent of the Maxine arc,” Sylvia says. “So I was very excited to be able to spend a lot of time with Dinah’s character and in Dinah’s relationship.”
What about surprise guest stars?
It seems greedy to even inquire about guest stars given the caliber of the series’ regular cast, but Sylvia says this season’s guest lineup is so mind-blowing, “it’s going to make our fans throw their shoes at the television with excitement.” He says that they’ll be serving “an aperitif, a dessert, a main course, and many cocktails with our guest stars,” but don’t expect to be spoiled ahead of time. “We’re being pretty tight-lipped because we want it to happen in real time and want the visceral thrill that the truly devoted to the show will feel when these wonderful people appear.” Consider us very, very intrigued.
Will the title sequence remain the same?
The whimsical Palm Royale title sequence will remain, but it’s been redesigned a bit to reflect elements of the story in season 2, Sylvia says. “New Easter eggs, but same style, same beautiful music by Emmy-winner Jeff Toyne [and Emmy-nominated designer Ronnie Koff]. So you could watch it and not realize it’s changed, but as the story unfolds, you’re like, ‘Oh, wait a minute, this is actually different.’ There’s little nuggets.”
Finally, what about the show’s superb fashion?
Palm Royale is as much about the style and fashion of the characters as it is about the stories, and Sylvia says season 2 won’t disappoint. “We have two episodes later in the season that will flip the style on its head, and that’s all I’ll say. Just when you thought you’d seen all these ladies can do…”
But when pushed for more, Sylvia says “wait till you get a load of Allison Janney’s chiffon pantsuit in episode 3. I think there’ll be versions of this appearing on runways for all of spring-summer ’26.” And in the meantime, the show’s Emmy-nominated costume designer, Alix Friedberg, has a Palm Royale–inspired line called On 34th x Alix Collection at Macy’s, which is available here.
Anything else?
“We came to this season saying we didn’t want to leave anything on the [table],” Sylvia says. “[But] we’re up to the challenge because we now know these actors so well and we know these characters so well. We’re just really cooking with gas.”
Hailing from Apple Studios, Palm Royale is written, executive produced, and showrun by Abe Sylvia for Aunt Sylvia’s Moving Picture Company. The series is executive-produced by Laura Dern and Jayme Lemons for Jaywalker Pictures, Kristen Wiig, and Katie O’Connell Marsh.
