Packers Linked to Possible Micah Parsons Trade By NFL Insider

The Green Bay Packers had a relatively quiet NFL offseason. After entering the offseason with high expectations of making a splash move, the team signed both offensive lineman Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs.

Those two moves were solid, but they weren’t the game-changing addition that many Packers fans were hoping to see.

Could general manager Brian Gutekunst still be looking to make that kind of a move? One potential option might have become available.

Micah Parsons has publicly requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys. While it is unclear whether or not Jerry Jones will give in to that trade request, he could be on the market for the right price.

With that in mind, one NFL insider has connected Green Bay as a potential trade destination for Parsons.

During an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport named the Packers as a possible team that would have interest in Parsons.

“I would expect that the Packers would be among the teams interested,” Rapoport said. “That’s the kind of team that I would say, if Micah was going to be traded, that he’d be going to.”

Green Bay would be a very interesting destination for Parsons.

First and foremost, the Packers have a need for more pass rushing. Rashan Gary is capable of being a top-tier pass rusher, but consistency has been a problem. Lukas Van Ness has a ton of potential, but it hasn’t made its way to the field yet.

Adding a player like Parsons would help Green Bay jump into elite Super Bowl contender status. However, he would not come cheap and the Packers are not known for making aggressive all-in moves for outside talent.

During the 2024-25 NFL season with the Cowboys, Parsons dealt with some injury issues and played in 13 games. He recorded 43 total tackles to go along with 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a defended back. Back in 2023 in a full 17-game season, he totaled 64 tackles, 14 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two defended passes.

Will Green Bay actually try to make a move for Parsons? That remains to be seen. But Rapoport certainly seems to think they’re a possibility.
