Detectives are trying to piece together what happened in the murders of three people, including a woman gunned down in a car and two men fatally shot in a truck with an attached trailer, who were found in a remote area of Northeast Antelope Valley Sunday afternoon.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received shots-fired calls around 4:45 p.m. in the area of 215th Street East between East Avenue Q and East Palmdale Boulevard.
“When Lancaster deputies arrived on scene, they located a female adult in her 40s suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle,” Lt. Dejong said.
The deputies rendered aid to the woman, but she was later pronounced dead at the scene by L.A. County Fire Department personnel.
“Simultaneously, deputies located an SUV that had a trailer attached to it and located two additional males suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced deceased on scene as well,” Dejong said.
The identities of the victims have not been revealed.
It was unclear when the shootings took place or how many suspects may be involved.
“We’re asking the public’s help if anybody knows what occurred out here,” Dejong said.

Last year, six people were found shot to death not far away in the El Mirage area. Investigators believe the murders stemmed from a dispute over illegal marijuana.
There was no word on a possible motive for the killings on Sunday night.
