DOD August contracts: ACC on Redstone Arsenal to be contracting activity for over $4 billion in contracts

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (WHNT) — Alabama agencies for the week of August 11-15 are set to be working locations or the contracting activities for 12 Department of Defense contracts.

Each day of the work week, the Department of Defense releases contracts and the contracting activities for said contracts. For the week of August 11 through August 15, Alabama agencies are said to either work on or be a working location for 12 contracts.

August 11

Navy

Huntsville is said to be home to 3% of the work for a Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems contract. The DOD website says the Moorestown, New Jersey, Lockheed Martin was awarded a $16,182,918 cost-plus-award-fee modification to a previously awarded contract. This specific contract is said to “exercise option items supporting systems engineering and software integration for the integrated combat system across the surface force portfolio of the Navy and Coast Guard.”

The work is expected to be completed by September 2025.

August 12

Navy

Anniston, Alabama, is said to receive 1% of the work for a Raytheon Co. contract. This contract, awarded to the company’s Tucson, Arizona, location, is for the engineering, manufacturing and development of the Standard Missile 2 (SM-2) Block IIICU All Up Round. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $263,137,090, the DOD said.

Work is said to be performed in 12 named U.S. locations, a location in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, and other locations receiving less than 1% of work.

The expected completion date is in September 2031.

Army

G&G Steel Inc., in Russellville, was awarded a firm-fixed price contract to derive, assemble, and deliver one upstream miter gate with two leaves and the associated equipment. The amount of this action is $18,169,068 with a total cumulative face value of $38,697,288.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 15, 2028. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville, Kentucky, is the contracting activity.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville is the contracting activity for a Tetra Tech Inc., $9,136,582 contract modification. This contract, according to the DOD, is for recurring maintenance, minor and emergency repairs at fueling sites.

Work is estimated to be finished on August 12, 2026.

August 13

Army

Army Contract Command at Redstone Arsenal was named the contracting activity for a Lockheed Martin Corp. contract modification.

The contract, for Lockheed’s Orlando location, is a $720,120,883 modification for Production Year Four of HELLFIRE/JAGM missiles. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $1,493,541,465, the DOD contract said.

This contract has an estimated completion date of September 30, 2028.

August 14

Army

Army Contracting Command was also awarded as the contracting agency for another Lockheed Martin Corp. contract. This contract, for the Grand Prairie, Texas, location, is a $4,232,948,956 modification for production of the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System. The new total face value of the contract is $13,265,440,935. Work locations and funding will be determined, the DOD contract says.

An estimated completion date for this contract is October 20, 2027.

Army Contracting Command’s Mobile, Alabama, location was named the contracting activity for a Phillips Contracting Co., Inc. firm-fixed-price contract.

The contract, according to the DOD, is for construction equipment rental with operators for disposal area maintenance. The amount of this action is $24,000,000. Work locations are still to be determined with each order, but the estimated completion date is August 13, 2030.

In more Army Contracting Command news, the agency was named the contracting activity for a $9,455,097 contract modification for Amentum Services Inc. out of Chantilly, Virginia. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $197,827,313, and work is scheduled to be finished on November 30, 2025.

Defense Logistics Agency

Alabama was named as a performance location for a Noble Supply and Logistics Inc.,* $90,000,000 contract. This contract is for an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for facilities maintenance, repair, and operations supplies. This is a 413-day bridge contract with no option periods, the DOD said.

“Locations of performance are Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi, with an Oct. 2, 2026, ordering period end date. Using customers are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2025 through 2027 defense working capital funds,” the DOD contract says.

Noble Supply and Logistics Inc. was labeled as a small business, according to the DOD.

Missile Defense Agency

The Missile Defense Agency in Huntsville was named the contracting activity for a Lockheed Martin Corp., Missiles and Fire Control, contract modification. The modification raises the total value from $10,416,801,794 to $10,435,104,636, an $18,302,843 increase.

The contract itself is for the interceptor component obsolescence of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system to support the U.S. government. Under this modification, the contractor will produce THAAD components under cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract line-item numbers. The work will be performed in Sunnyvale, California and Troy, Alabama, with an expected completion date of August 18, 2028.

August 15

Scottsdale, Arizona’s General Dynamics Mission System, Inc. was awarded a ceiling $17,500,000 contract modification. The DOD said the contract is for the proliferated warfighter space architecture, ground management and integration, and operation and sustainment efforts.

The modification brings the face value of the contract from $1,130,797,413 to $1,148,297,413.

Work is to be performed in Scottsdale, Arizona; Huntsville, Alabama; and Grand Forks, North Dakota, and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of fiscal 2027.
