There are a lot of quarterbacks around college football with elite potential heading into the 2025 season. However, there are few who have received more hype than Clemson Tigers signal caller Cade Klubnik.

After having a huge breakout season in 2024, Klubnik is looking to build. Clemson was a College Football Playoff team last year, but there are bigger goals in mind this season.

In order to be a national championship contender, the Tigers will need Klubnik to take his game to the next level. He’s shown the ability to put up star numbers, but now he has to prove that he can legitimately be one of the best players in the country.

During the 2024 college football season, Klubnik stuffed the stat sheet. He completed 63.4 percent of his pass attempts for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. He also ran for 463 yards and seven more touchdowns.

Those numbers have put him on the radar as arguably the best quarterback in the nation. Klubnik has received some 2026 NFL Draft projections to be the No. 1 overall pick or at least a top-10 selection.

With that being said, a new national prediction has showered him with more hype.

Bleacher Report’s Adam Kramer has predicted that Klubnik will win the 2025 Heisman Trophy in one of his hot takes about the upcoming year.

“The schedule isn’t easy, although it’s plenty favorable given the state of the SEC. A strong showing against LSU in the opener will help get the train going, and it won’t stop from there,” Kramer wrote. “Klubnik has an abundance of talent around him on both sides of the ball, and it will all come together in spectacular fashion.”

Originally a five-star recruit hailing from Austin, Texas, Klubnik was ranked as the No. 2 quarterback and No. 6 player in the nation by 247 Sports in the 2022 recruiting class. He was expected to immediately make Clemson a championship contender.

His college career got off to a slower start than expected. Klubnik didn’t play much as a freshman, but his 2023 season as a first-time starter was not impressive.

Now, his talent and superstar potential has been shining through. After his production from last season, the sky is the limit for him moving forward.

It will be interesting to see what kind of season Klubnik can turn in this year. Should he live up to the hype and play at the level many are expecting, the Tigers are going to be a serious national championship contender.
