EXCLUSIVE: Chris Rock has added four to the cast of his new directorial effort for A24: Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Anthony Anderson (G20), Kelli Garner (Lars and the Real Girl), Amy Landecker (Transparent) and Rich Sommer (Clipped).
Character details are under wraps. As previously announced, Rosalind Eleazar plays the lead role, with Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, and Rock also set to star. Currently untitled, the film follows Misty Green (Eleazar), a gifted actress with a derailed career until someone from her past offers her a chance at a comeback
Rock is directing from his own script and producing alongside Peter Rice and David Worthen Brooks, with production underway in Los Angeles. Exec producers includeNelson George, Shaum Sengupta and Miles Alva.
Garnering numerous accolades for his starring turn on ABC’s Black-ish, Anderson has most recently been seen starring alongside Viola Davis in the action thriller G20 for Prime Video. He is represented by UTA, Artists First, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
Known for roles in films like Lars and the Real Girl and The Aviator, Garner’s recent credits include Showtime’s American Gigolo and such films as V/H/S/85 and What Josiah Saw. She is repped by Paradigm, Management Production Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
Landecker starred in Prime Video’s Transparent and has more recently been seen in projects like I Wish You All the Best and her feature directorial debut, For Worse, which premiered at SXSW. She is repped by Gersh, Ayala Cohen Management, Principal Entertainment, and Felker Toczek Suddleson.
Sommer has starred on shows like Mad Men, Clipped and Mr. Throwback, also appearing in BlackBerry, Fair Play, King Richard, and other films. He is repped by Innovative Artists and Davis Spylios Management.
