Facing rape and sex-trafficking charges in Romania and the UK, and a criminal investigation in the USA, so-called “king of toxic masculinity” Andrew Tate has decided now is the time to go after Meta and TikTok for kicking the self-described far-right misogynist off their platforms years ago.
Now holed up in Dubai with his widely accused brother Tristan, the much accused Tate wants the social media giants to hand over $50 million each for tainting the siblings’ already pretty tainted personas for “emotional distress, business interference, and misappropriation.”
No disrespect to SNL‘s Hans and Franz, but sounding more girly-man than the embodiment of XY chromosomes, the LA-based Raymond E. Brenneman and Miami-set Thomas Maniotis represented Tates are still really sore of being given the boot of Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok as well as YouTube and Twitter several years ago.
“This case arises from Defendant, TikTok, Inc.’s unlawful and politically motivated decision to deplatform Plaintiffs Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate—two internationally known entrepreneurs, commentators, and media personalities—from the TikTok social media platform,” the August 13 breach of contract and fraud filing in LA Superior Court declares in language more akin to a pitch document than a legal action. “At the time, the Plaintiffs collectively commanded an audience of tens of millions, generated significant revenue through lawful online enterprises, and were among the most visible public figures on TikTok’s platform,” the jury trial seeking filing goes on to say, leaving out the history of the ex-kickboxer and his brother already being shown the door on Twitter in 2017 and being accused of promoting “a hateful ideology,” according to TikTok back in 2022.
In the minds of American and British duel citizens Andrew and Tristan Tate, that’s all a sideshow – it’s really about Big Tech desiring to silence free speech and moneymaking.
“TikTok’s removal of the Plaintiffs was not an isolated enforcement action grounded in neutral application of its Terms of Use, rather, it was the culmination of a coordinated campaign to suppress, silence, and destroy the reputations and livelihoods of two controversial but lawabiding men,” the Tates’ TikTok filing says in identical language to what is in the Meta suit, which pushes the same 12 claims.
Representatives for TikTok and Meta did not respond to Deadline’s request for comment on the Tates’ under the radar August 13 filing at the Santa Monica Courthouse. The Mark Zuckerberg-owed latter has been flexing a lot of tech testotrone since Trump got back in the White House and the banned/not banned Chinese internet company Bytedance-created social media app former has once again been given another multi-month extension by POTUS (another example of TACO as Wall Streeters love to mock Trump).
Tate, who Elon Musk allowed back to Twitter now X in November 2022, announced earlier today that he had put aside $400 million to take on Big Tech plus “every single girl who lied about me …the BBC, all mainstream media across Australia UK and USA ..every twitter account that defamed me.” Leaning into his hardcore base, Tate insists he is doing it for “the people everywhere who have been lied about, banned, cancelled” and “all the men who had lying women ruin their lives and stop them seeing their kids.”
“It’s good vs evil and I will lose my entire fortune in this fight.”
I have allocated 400,000,000 of personal funds to battle Google, Meta, TikTok –
Every single girl who lied about me.
The BBC, all mainstream media across Australia UK and USA
Every twitter account that defamed me.
All of them.
Vs me.
I’m doing this for the people… https://t.co/Hg7FZD32pc

Hot off a hang with UFC boss Dana White back in March in a trip to the States after his travel ban was lifted and some proclaimed loved for Donald Trump, Tate has been proclaiming his and his brother’s innocence since officials in their adopted home of Romania arrested the duo and others in December 2022 for rape, sex-trafficking, and putting together a criminal enterprise. Money laundering and sex with a minor charge and more were added later, with the case going up and down the court hierarchy in the Eastern European nation.
After embracing the MAGA manosphere anew and facing threats from Florida Governor Rob DeSantis, the Tates returned to Romania in the spring with the proclamation that “innocent men don’t run from anything.” They then moved to the UAE as British prosectors pursued sexual assault and other charges like tax evasion agains the brothers, and grabbed almost $4 million in assets from the two.
Over the past year or so, Tate has received praise and support from Donald Trump Jr, now New Jersey US Attorney (at least for now) and Trump personal lawyer Alina Habba (a “big fan”) and presidential envoy for special missions and interim Kennedy Center executive director Ric Grenell.
BTW – Meta and TikTok aren’t the only ones, Tate is suing for $50 million, not even in the last week.
On August 13, he went after ex-girlfriend iBrianna Sternn with couterclaims against her allegations and lawsuit over him sexually assaulting her in a Beverly Hills hotel on March 10. Sternn’s “smear campaign” resulted in Tate losing “sponsorships, cancelled business deals and irreversible damage to his global reputation.”
