The Dallas Wings were able to knock off the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night by a final score of 81-80. It was an entertaining game, although Caitlin Clark was not on the court to face off against rookie star Paige Bueckers.

Despite Clark not being on the court, the Wings winning was a bit of a surprise. At that point, Dallas was heading into the game with an 8-24 record.

While the game was entertaining, Sophie Cunningham spoke out after the game with some major criticism for the WNBA officials who refereed the matchup.

Following the loss, Cunningham made it clear that she felt the referees were giving Bueckers some preferential treatment.

“I love Paige to death, do not get me wrong. I think she’s a hell of a player and would love to play with her one day, but those refs were giving her every whistle last night,” Cunningham said. “You literally couldn’t touch her, couldn’t touch her. That (expletive) is so annoying to me. And if you’re going to do that, then give it to our guards. I just hate the inconsistency.”

Bueckers was asked about her thoughts on Cunningham’s comment. She offered a quick response.

“Everyone is entitled to their own unique personal opinion,” Bueckers said.

Throughout the course of the game, Bueckers scored 16 points to go along with eight assists and five rebounds. She shot 6-for-19 from the floor and knocked down all four of her free throws.

Cunningham, on the other hand, scored 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting and recorded three assists.

In her rookie season, Bueckers has become one of the biggest names in the WNBA. She has been a dominant force for the Wings all season long, averaging 18.8 points, 5.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game to go along with a 45.9 percent shooting rate from the floor and 31.6 percent from the three-point line.

Indiana has been very vocal about the officials this season. Cunningham, in particular, has had a lot to say.

She is certainly entitled to her own opinion, but Bueckers clearly wasn’t worrying herself with Cunningham’s thoughts. At the end of the day, she led her team to a win, which was all that mattered to her.
