Teyana Taylor has been ordered to pay her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, $70,000 after she was found in contempt of court in their ongoing divorce battle.

The exes both attended a hearing on July 25 over their fight on who violated their 2024 divorce judgment, Us Weekly reports. The judge sided with Shumpert that Taylor violated the terms of their divorce agreement — which included that they wouldn’t disclose any information about the judgment —when she posted an Instagram video in March discussing the divorce.

As for Taylor’s accusation that Shumpert leaked information about their divorce judgment to the press, per the report, the judge ruled that Taylor didn’t provide sufficient evidence to prove her claim.

Taylor also refused to answer questions from Shumpert “inquiring about her assets and her income, further stating that such information was completely irrelevant to any issue,” according to the court order.

The court ordered Taylor to pay Shumpert’s lawyer $70,000 for legal fees, and denied her request for Shumpert to pay for her legal fees.

It wasn’t a total loss for the “Google Me” singer, however. The judge denied Shumpert’s request that Taylor be found in contempt for allegedly violating their parenting plan, the outlet reports.

Reps for Taylor and Shumpert didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Taylor secretly filed for divorce from Shumpert in January 2023, accusing him of being a jealous emotional abuser who was insecure about her fame in court documents obtained by TMZ.

She alleged her ex was “treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.”

Shumpert denied the claims in his own court filing in December of that year. He requested that the “cruel treatment” Taylor listed as the reason for their divorce be changed to “irretrievable broken bond.”

He also argued that Taylor did not prove that he ever treated her in any way that made her feel unsafe during their marriage.

Taylor, 34, and Shumpert, 35, got married in October 2016 and share two daughters together: Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., 9, and Rue Rose Shumpert, 4.

Taylor previously expressed her frustration that details of her divorce were made public, calling it “heartbreaking” in a November 2023 Instagram Stories post.

“It is very heartbreaking that someone would take out the time to make such a private matter public for the world to see,” she wrote. “However, protecting my family is one thing I’ve ALWAYS done & for my children I will continue to do so.”

She’s since moved on romantically. She’s currently dating “Mufasa” star Aaron Pierre, 31.
