Atlanta is as hot as any team in the WNBA right now, having won six in a row and eight of their last nine contests. The run has shot them up past the New York Liberty for the No. 2 seed in the league. In their last game, they defeated the Storm 85-75 in the first game of a home-and-home series. Rhyne Howard scored 25 points to go with seven assists, with Allisha Gray adding 22 points and 11 rebounds.
It wasn’t very long ago that the Storm were in a similar situation to the Dream, chasing one of the top seeds in the playoffs, but a recent six-game skid has them gasping for proverbial air, holding onto the No. 8 seed by just one half-game. Seattle got 29 points, nine rebounds, and four assists from Nneka Ogwumike in their previous game against the Dream, but only one other player (Gabby Williams, 11) could crack double figures.
This will be the fourth and final meeting of the regular season between the Storm and Dream, with Atlanta holding a 2-1 lead in the series.
