Golden State has picked a great time to start firing on all cylinders, as its three-game win streak has vaulted it firmly into the playoff picture. Their last win was a crucial victory over another playoff hopeful, an 88-83 result over the Washington Mystics. Veronica Burton played a fantastic game, scoring 30 points on 10-for-13 from the field, adding seven rebounds and seven assists.
The Sky remain mired in a tough slump as they continue to play without sparkplug Angel Reese. On Wednesday, the Sky dropped a 71-62 decision to the team with the league’s worst record, the Connecticut Sun. The Sky fell behind early, trailing by 14 at halftime, and only a fourth-quarter run brought the deficit back to a reasonable amount. Kamilla Cardoso scored 24 points on 10 field goals, with the rest of the starters combining for just 10 field goals.
This will be the third and final meeting between the teams, with Golden State winning the first two.
