It seems that Emily Charlton is the one getting a makeover in the “Devil Wears Prada” sequel.
Emily Blunt, who plays the former assistant to Miranda Priestly in the fashion magazine movie, was seen on set in NYC on Thursday looking very different from her normal self.
The actress sported a platinum blond bob — a stark departure from her character’s signature red hair.
It’s unclear what plot point may have driven the fictional fashion obsessive to the peroxide bottle, or if, perhaps, the lighter look is some kind of mental spiral or flashback in the movie. Maybe she’s testing it out for an incognito job at the fictional Runway magazine?
In any case, Emily paired the look with a Coach sweater featuring an uncharacteristically touristy apple shape with “NY” emblazoned in the center. She added some bling by way of a silver tie.
She wore Dior sunglasses and was seen around set in bright red pants before switching into tights and black Maison Margiela skirt for the actual filming.
On her feet, Blunt wore platform loafers by Gianvito Rossi and ankle socks, giving a very fall vibe.
Blunt, 42, made her first much-awaited appearance on set with Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep last month, rocking her character’s signature ginger hair.
She was seen wearing a Dior shirt, bag and sunglasses with a Wiederhoeft bustier top ($2,200) and pinstripe Jean Paul Gaultier pants as well as Brandon Blackwood shoes.
Hathaway, Streep and Stanley Tucci have all made their glorious appearances, too, with newcomers Patrick Brammall, Pauline Chalamet, Simone Ashley all also having filmed for the movie.
Director David Frankel also returned for the sequel, which pits Charlton against her former boss, Miranda Priestly herself, as they compete for advertising revenue in print media, per IMDB.
We’ll get our Chanel boots ready.
