Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding are set to star in Close Personal Friends from Amazon MGM Studios with Jason Orley directing.
Isaac Aptaker penned the script, which is based on a story he wrote with Jason Orley. The Walk-Up Company’s Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, and Maximum Effort’s Ashley Fox and Johnny Pariseau will produce. Jason Orley will executive produce.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for the film.
Larson most recently executive produced and starred in Apple TV+’s Lessons in Chemistry, earning Emmy, Screen Actors Guild, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe nominations. Past credits include the titular role in Captain Marvel, which broke box office records, and its sequel, The Marvels, in addition to Fast X, Trainwreck, Kong: Skull Island, The Glass Castle and her breakout role in 2013’s Short Term 12. Brie Larson is represented by WME and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
Collins can currently be seen in the hit Netflix series Emily in Paris, for which she received her second Golden Globe nomination. The Emmy-nominated show, in which Collins plays the titular star and also serves as a producer on, was recently renewed for a fifth season. Last fall, the multihyphenate made her stage debut on the West End in Bess Woh’s Barcelona, and can recently be seen on screen in Maxxine, the final installment in Ti West and A24‘s cult horror trilogy X, following the 2022 sequel Pearl. Lily Collins is represented by CAA, LBI Entertainment, Definition Entertainment and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
Quaid stars in the Emmy-nominated Prime Video series, The Boys, created by Eric Kripke and executive producers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen. Quaid captivated audiences in Drew Hancock’s gripping sci-fi thriller Companion, starred in Paramount’s action thriller Novocaine, and can most recently be seen in the Amazon MGM Studios film, Heads of State. Quaid is represented by UTA, Anonymous Content and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern.
Golding can most recently be seen in the second season of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, Another Simple Favor for Amazon MGM Studios, and Old Guard 2 for Netflix. Upcoming, Golding will star in the independent film Daniela Forever, which will be released globally on July 22. Additional film credits include Last Christmas, Snake Eyes, A Simple Favor, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Persuasion, and Monsoon. On the series side, Golding can be seen in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen series for Netflix.
Orley wrote and directed his first film, Big Time Adolescence, which was released in March 2020 and is available on Hulu. The film stars Pete Davidson, Sydney Sweeney, Machine Gun Kelly, Griffin Gluck, and Jon Cryer and premiered in dramatic competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
