It wasn’t so long ago (like, a week ago) that Taylor Nation (the collection of accounts and websites that Taylor Swift, Inc., uses to communicate with the fanbase) had Swifties in a frenzy over what amounted to nothing but streaming parties for the superstar’s albums. So, fool me once, etc. Except, this time, it seems like rumors of a new Taylor Swift album—or at least a big project announcement—might have some merit? Let’s consider the evidence.
- It’s been a minute since Swift gave fans an update on what she’s been up to. We know, thanks to her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Instagram dump, that’s she’s been happily enjoying some PTO, but it’s unlike the superstar to go this long between releases. The Eras Tour wrapped at the end of 2024, and if you know Swift, you know she’s been cooking up something for the last eight months.
- Taylor Nation reminded fans of when she said “see you next era,” in a post on August 11, with pictures featuring the color orange. Now Swiftian color theory is a game for fools and mad men, but just keep that in mind.
- New Heights, Trav and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast, posted at the exact same time, promising a very special episode featuring a special mystery guest with a female silhouette, and their teaser image for the episode featured a sparkly orange background. The episode will drop on, you guessed it, August 13. (Thirteen is a Very Important Number in Swiftese.)

Naturally, Swiftopia is melting down over the possibility over what this could mean. A new album is obviously one possibility, but it’s far from the only one. An Eras Tour documentary? An update on the long-gestating feature directorial debut? Wedding and a baby? LMAO JK, it’s gonna be something work-related, so be for real you guys, her eras are not defined by her personal life, get out of here with that speculation. It could be some Rep vault tracks. Maybe.
