EXCLUSIVE: Merrin Dungey (The Lincoln Lawyer), Audrey Hsieh (Found) and Audrey Grace Marshall (The Flight Attendant) have been cast in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, which has a pilot order at Hulu. They will be guest stars in the pilot, with the characters conceived as recurring if the project goes to series.

Ryan Kiera Armstrong stars as the new slayer — an introverted high-school student named Nova — in the untitled Buffyverse offshoot, which Sarah Michelle Gellar executive produces in addition to reprising her signature role as Buffy Summers.

Dungey will play Ms. LaDuca, the College Counselor at New Sunnydale Academy. Hsieh and Marshall play Keiko and Jessica, respectively, who are both high school students and members of the Evangelical Christian group at New Sunnydale Academy.

In addition to Armstrong and Gellar, the trio joins previously cast series regulars Faly Rakotohavana, Ava Jean, Sarah Bock, Daniel Di Tomasso and Jack Cutmore-Scott as well as guest star/recurring Kingston Vernes. Chase Sui Wonders has a one-off guest starring role in the pilot.

Oscar winner Chloé Zhao is directing the pilot, written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. No additional information has been provided about the project, referred to as the next chapter in the Buffyverse, which comes from 20th Television and Searchlight TV.

Dungey, whose recent credits include The Lincoln Lawyer, S.W.A.T. and Shining Vale, is repped by Gersh, Quest Entertainment & Management and Marcy Morris at Jackoway Austen Tyerman et al.

Known for her role as Stevie Zhao in Found with Shanola Hampton, Hsieh also appeared in the Netflix film Mixtape and in Here Today with Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish. She’s repped by Buchwald and Nikki Mincks Talent Management and Abramson Entertainment Law.

Marshall will next be seen in Peacock’s upcoming The Good Daughter limited series, alongside Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy. Her other credits include the role of Young Cassie on HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant. She’s repped by Paradigm, Luber Roklin Entertainment and attorney Ryan Goodell of Yorn Levine Barnes Krintzman Rubenstein Kohner Endlich Goodell & Gellman.
