In a viral TikTok video, a woman from Birmingham, Alabama, is ambushed by her foster kittens as she brings them dinner, and internet users can’t cope with the hilarious footage.
The clip, shared in July by Julia Davis (@julia_adavis), shows the poster getting ready to feed the five felines, following the internet’s advice to wear more clothes in order to protect herself from the hungry kitties.
“It’s time again to feed the screaming land piranhas. Everyone says I should wear more protection when feeding them so… I think I’m ready,” she can be heard saying, as she puts on a jacket, gloves, and protective glasses before getting in.
As she brings the kittens wet food on individual plates by carrying them on a tray, the kittens start acting feral, and immediately begin jumping all over her, even making her drop some of the food on the floor.
One of the kittens can be seen climbing right on top of her, almost tripping her over. Davis eventually gives up and just leaves the tray on the floor for them to eat from as they please.
“I fear wearing more clothes just gave their kittens more material to sink their little bean blades into,” she said.
Davis told Newsweek that she’s fostering these kitties through a local nonprofit in her area called Save Our Strays/Purrfect Love Cat Rescue!
“I’ve had them since they were nine weeks old and they’re now 13 weeks old. Although they are extremely passionate at mealtime, they truly are the sweetest little babies. They will be ready for adoption within the next couple of weeks,” she said.
“I know these babies are in for lives full of love but I will still be so sad when the time comes for them to go to their forever homes. Until then, we will soak up making all the memories together!”
Davis also explained that this kitten season has been “brutal” for all the shelters and rescues and there is always a need for foster homes.
“Even if someone can’t foster, shelters and rescues often need supplies to help care for the kitties in their care. Most organizations have a wishlist and/or outstanding vet bills,” she said.
“All that to say—there are ways to help kitties that don’t involve fostering. Fostering is awesome but it’s not in the cards for everyone and that’s okay!”
