The wait is finally over as the NFL preseason is officially here, and these two squads continue their preparation for their opening games of the regular season during this matchup.
We likely will not see many of the stars in action, as all of C.J. Stroud, Justin Jefferson, and Nico Collins will almost certainly get the night off. However, there are still plenty of storylines to follow.
Will should see the 2025-26 debut of J.J. McCarthy, who missed his entire rookie campaign due to injury. The 2024 first-round pick is slated to be the week 1 starter for Minnesota, and he will have to live up to high expectations after watching Sam Darnold, his place holder, put up career numbers and make the Pro Bowl last season.
The Vikings have the weapons to make McCarthy’s job easy, but he will have to hold up on his end of the bargain, and it all starts with showing the staff he has a strong grasp of the offense in this one against Houston.
