Five people have been arrested in connection with a July shooting in the unincorporated Riverside County community of Valle Vista, authorities said.
According to Sergeant Matthew Cramer of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station were dispatched around 6:22 a.m. on July 19 to the 24000 block of Balestrieri Road after a resident reported that two of their vehicles had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
Video surveillance reviewed by investigators showed the shooting occurred earlier that morning, at approximately 2:47 a.m., and captured a white Dodge Charger in the area. Deputies identified the vehicle’s registered owner as a family member of Stephanie White, 44, of Colton, who was considered a possible suspect.
Authorities said that prior to the shooting, White and her daughter, Alexis White, 26, also of Colton, allegedly sent the victim harassing messages and threats involving a firearm. Investigators determined that Alexis was in the area when the shooting took place.
On Aug. 7, deputies from multiple units — including the Major Crimes Bureau, Rural Crime Team, Special Enforcement Bureau, and Hemet Special Enforcement Team — served search warrants at residences in Colton belonging to Stephanie and Alexis White. Four individuals were taken into custody during the operation: Stephanie White, Alexis White, Elijah Haro, 18, of Colton, and Edwin Alfaro, 42, of Los Angeles. Deputies reported seizing a firearm, magazines, ammunition, and an unregistered assault rifle.
Through further investigation, authorities identified a fifth suspect, Isaiah Haro, 20, of Perris. A search warrant executed in the 1000 block of Navajo Road in Perris resulted in Haro’s arrest and the recovery of a semi-automatic pistol reported stolen out of San Bernardino.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said Alexis White was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of aiding and abetting. Stephanie White, Alfaro, and Elijah Haro were booked on multiple weapons-related charges. Isaiah Haro was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of shooting at an unoccupied vehicle, felony vandalism, committing a felony with a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and unlawful shooting.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Deputy Ryan Weber at the Hemet Sheriff’s Station at (951) 791-3400 or Riverside Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776-1099.
