MIKE Moves Through His Career Classics Effortlessly on ‘Tiny Desk’

MIKE has made his long-overdue debut at NPR‘s Tiny Desk, finally settling into the storied, intimate studio to deliver a medley of his classic tracks from throughout his career.

In typical form, the reflective rapper pulled up with heads, bringing a circle of his trusted creative collaborators to surround the desk, including duendita and Liv.e on backing vocals, Mark William Lewis and Jespfur on guitar, Savannah Harris on percussion arrangements, Olu Odubiro on bass, Bobby Hall III on keyboard, and Wale Oyenola on the talking drum.

“We are the band of the century,” he says before introducing each one of the instrumentalists.

Spanning 12 songs, the set list kicks off with “Intro” and “Burning Desire,” before getting into “Evil Eye,” “Leaders of Tomorrow (Intro),” and closing out with “What Do I Do?”
