The California Highway Patrol has issued a Silver Alert for a 91-year-old woman missing out of Long Beach.

Geneva Lillian Habbary was last seen around 7:20 a.m. Thursday after leaving her living facility on the 3100 block of East Artesia Boulevard.

“Habbary may be experiencing cognitive conditions and is unable to care for herself,” the Long Beach Police Department said in a news release.

Habbary is a Black woman who is about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs around 129 pounds. She has no scars or tattoos, and was not believed to be wearing any jewelry.

She does not have a vehicle, cell phone or any other devices that track her location, police said.

When she was last seen, she was wearing a dark head wrap, a brown sweater and dark sweatpants and traveling on foot.

Her disappearance comes as much of Southern California is experiencing above average temperatures, including Los Angeles County, which is facing a fire warning from the National Weather Service, and the potential for a heat advisory.

As of 4:30 p.m., the temperature at the Long Beach Airport was 90 degrees.

Anyone with information about Habbary’s location is urged to contact 911 immediately.

The CHP is the agency responsible for issuing Silver Alerts, which are activated when an elderly person, or someone with cognitive or developmental impairments is reported missing and is believed to be at-risk. For more information, click here.
