HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A Huntsville man accused of forcibly removing a woman from a hotel room has been charged with kidnapping among other charges.
On Friday, August 1 at 11p.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Memorial Parkway.
Witnesses told law enforcement that they saw a man forcible remove a woman from a room and walk away from the area.
HPD said witnesses also told them that the suspect was armed with a knife.
Officers then began searching the area which led them to finding the suspect and the victim in the wood line near Arcadia Circle.
HPD identified the suspect as Antonio Fremonte Moore, 54, of Huntsville.
According to HPD, Moore surrendered to authorities and was taken into custody. A knife was also found in his pocket, according to police.
A member of the Huntsville Police Department’s Special Victims Unit responded to the scene to investigate.
Preliminary findings suggest that Moore and the victim were in a long-term relationship. Evidence shows that Moore forced his way into a hotel room where the victim was before forcing her to leave under a threat of harm.
After being interviewed by investigators, Moore was arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree domestic violence-burglary.
He was booked into the Madison County Jail where he is being held with no bond.
