A 34-year-old man jumped to his death from the Whitney Museum in Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon, according to officials and sources.

The unidentified man was found on Gansevoort Street outside the ritzy Chelsea art museum just before 5:30 p.m., suffering from “injuries indicative of falling from an elevated position,” according to the NYPD.

EMS declared the man dead at the scene, cops said.

The man committed suicide, according to sources, jumping from a perch at the lofty art house, which offers plenty of highly elevated outdoor space for visitors.

The man was a visitor to the Whitney, according to the museum.

“We are devastated that a visitor lost their life. Our thoughts are with their family and friends, and with our staff, visitors and neighbors who were nearby when it occurred,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

“We are in close contact with the authorities and assisting in any way we can. The Whitney will open on a delayed schedule at 12 pm tomorrow, Thursday, July 31st.”

Cops said the man was declared dead at the scene of the ritzy hotel.
