Eberlein Drive and Best Virginia square off in a semifinal matchup in The Basketball Tournament on Thursday night at WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia. Eberlein Drive is in the semifinals for the second consecutive year, while Best Virginia, a West Virginia alumni squad, has made its deepest run into TBT.
Both teams are coming off double-digit victories in their quarterfinal games on Monday night. Eberlein Drive got an 88-75 victory over Sideline Cancer. Best Virginia got off to a fast start and never looked back in a 74-61 win over the Maryland alumni squad, Shell Shock.
The winner advances to Sunday’s championship game against the winner of the Aftershocks vs. We Are D3 semifinal set for later Thursday night from Wichita.
Now in its 12th season, The Basketball Tournament is an open-invitation, single-elimination tournament featuring teams from around the country competing for a $1 million prize. The tournament is unique in that it uses the Elam Ending, a rule that sets a target score near the end of the fourth quarter, with the first team to reach that score winning the game.
