CULLMAN, Ala. (WHNT) — A Cullman County man was arrested for going into a bathroom to watch women, court records show.
Patrick Scott Herron, a registered sex offender, is charged with felony aggravated surveillance after he intentionally went into the women’s restroom at Jack’s in Cullman County on July 29 to watch a woman “for the purpose of sexual gratification.
In addition to this, Herron is accused of doing the same thing on June 21 at Cracker Barrel in Cullman County.
Herron has a history in Alabama of aggravated surveillance.
At the Tanger Outlet Mall in Foley in 2019, Herron was seen by a woman using his phone to video and take photos of her while she was in the bathroom stall. In addition to that, Herron was approached by police about the incident, but documents say he resisted officers by refusing to give his hands and pulled away while stating “no” to officers.
He was charged by the Foley Police Department with criminal surveillance and was given a GPS monitor and was told not to enter any shopping center in Baldwin County, court records state.
In January 2020, Herron was accused of going into the women’s bathroom at Family Health and Resource Center Thomas Hospital Wellness Center in Baldwin County. Documents say he put his phone with the camera open under the stall next to him, where a woman was using the restroom. From there, the document says the woman saw the phone and said something, to which Herron “retracted his hand and the phone from her stall.”
He was arrested on August 7, 2020, by the Fairhope Police Department.
After this incident, he was released from jail on April 22, 2021.
In July 2021, court records show he took photos of a woman under a bathroom stall in the Praise Family Church in Mobile County. For this, he took a guilty plea and was sentenced to 10 years, split to serve 2 in the Alabama Department of Corrections. He was also sentenced to enroll in mental health treatment following his release from ADOC.
Court records show his address changed to Cullman County in 2024.
