‘South Park’ Season 27 To Return Aug. 6 After Brief Hiatus As New Promo Teases More Trump-Satan Canoodling

South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker don’t seem inclined to pull any of their punches against the Trump administration.

Comedy Central announced Tuesday that Season 27 won’t return for another episode this week and will pick up where things left off on August 6. Whatever the reason for the break, it’s certainly not to give the POTUS time to cool off after the Season 27 premiere showed in him bed with Satan. In fact, it looks like they’ll be taking aim at Trump again in the upcoming second episode.

Teasing the continuation of Trump’s love affair with Satan, a promo for next week’s episode shows Trump flirting with Satan at a black tie dinner, stroking the devil’s leg under the table while someone on stage honors “the president’s courage.” Satan quickly slaps his hand away, telling him to quit it.

The episode also teases Cartman’s wrath at Bebe, another student at South Park Elementary. “You can just shut up, Bebe, because you hate America and love abortion,” he says with encouragement from PC Principal (formerly “Politically Correct” but now, as of this season, “Power Christian”).

We’ll see if either scene actually makes it into the episode, given Parker and Stone tend to fly by the seat of their pants a bit when it comes to making South Park. Just last week at Comic-Con, the duo confirmed they’d fabricated a whole bunch of random scenes for an earlier promo for Season 27, saying they received an angry response from fans, who thought the duo were creating episodes in advance to sidestep any hot topics.

Parker exclaimed, “You seriously think we made a bunch of shows ahead of time and baked them for later? We’re not doing any of that!”

The Season 27 premiere also took aim at Comedy Central’s parent company Paramount Global’s dealings with Trump as the FCC moved to approve its merger with Skydance. Time will tell what other hot topics the season might address, but in any instance the promo pretty much confirms that Parker and Stone have more to say.

South Park has long mocked Trump, but the Season 27 premiere took things to a new level with the president complaining about the size of his manhood in an official painting, then crawling into bed with and trying to be amorous with Satan, who rejects him, also complaining about the size of Trump’s manhood. In the episode, titled ‘Sermon on the ‘Mount’, the residents of South Park come together when the kids’ school principal literally brings Jesus into the classroom. The town’s parents riot, prompting a $5 billion lawsuit from Trump.

The episode had the president seething, sources told Deadline, prompting backlash from the White House.
