Pokémon TCG Pocket Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion release time
According to a press release on the official Pokémon website, the Eevee Grove booster pack will release at 2:00 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 30. Here’s when that is in your time zone:
- 11 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, July 29, for the West Coast of North America
- 2 a.m. EDT for the East Coast of North America
- 7 a.m. BST for the U.K.
- 8 a.m. CEST for Western Europe/Paris
- 3 p.m. JST for Tokyo
- 4 p.m. AEST for Australia/Sydney
What to expect from the Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion in Pokémon TCG
Ho-Oh and Lugia aren’t the only Pokémon to watch out for in TCG Pocket’s Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion, which includes more than 200 cards and is split into two booster packs, respectively headlined by those Legendaries. It’s also the elite starter trio (Cyndaquil, Chikorita, and Totodile) and coolest Eeveelution duo (Espeon and Umbreon).
Here are some of the cards that will be available:
- Ho-Oh ex, a fire-type Pokémon with 150 HP. Its Phoenix Turbo attack costs three colorless energy and deals 80 damage, but also lets you attach one each of a fire-, water-, and lightning-type energy to any basic Pokémon on your bench.
- Lugia ex, a colorless-type Pokémon with 150 HP. Its Elemental Blast attack deals 180 HP, but costs one each of a fire-, water-, and lightning-type energy. (Yes, Ho-Oh ex’s primary purpose seems to set up Lugia ex.)
- Red Gyarados, a water-type Pokémon with 130 HP. Its Wild Swing attack costs two water energy and deals 20 damage, but allows you to discard any water-type Pokémon from your bench — and for every card you discard, Wild Swing will deal 40 additional damage.
- Umbreon ex, a darkness-type Pokémon with 140 HP. Its Darkness Fang attack costs two darkness energy and deals 80 damage, while its Dark Claw ability allows you to switch one of your opponent’s damaged Pokémon into the active spot (though it only works while Umbreon ex is also in the active spot).
- Espeon ex, a psychic-type Pokémon with 140 HP. Its Psychic Healing ability lets you heal 30 HP from one of your damaged Pokémon, so long as Espeon ex is in the active spot, and its Super Psy Bolt attack costs two psychic energy and deals 80 damage.
- Silver, a trainer card. Once played, your opponent has to reveal their hand. You can then shuffle any of their revealed supporter cards back into their deck.
These cards arrive alongside a handful of long-awaited gameplay changes, like the revamped trading system. Following the update, you’ll use shinedust, rather than trade dust, to trade. You’ll also be able to add up to 20 cards to your Wishlist, a new feature that allows you to show off what cards you want the most.
