Turquoise Alert canceled for 6-year-old girl last seen at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport

Arizona’s first Turquoise Alert, which was issued for a missing 6-year-old girl last seen at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport earlier in July, has been canceled after she was found safe.

Violet Coultas initially went missing at the Phoenix airport at 10:01 p.m. on July 12, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

She was last seen with her mother Sarah, who is 48. DPS said Sarah was believed to have fled Hawaii for Arizona with Violet in violation of a court order.

Arizona congressman calls for comprehensive immigration reform after attempted visit to Kelly Yu

Arizona Rep. Greg Stanton called for comprehensive immigration reform after he tried to visit Kelly Yu, a Peoria business owner facing deportation, at the Eloy Detention Center and was denied.

Stanton told KTAR 92.3 FM’s Outspoken with Bruce and Gaydos on Friday that while his visit to the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility to see Yu didn’t go as planned, it went how he expected it would.

“Kelly’s husband asked me to go visit her and check in and see how she was doing and it’s my obligation as a member of the United States Congress to be able to tour federal facilities and make sure they’re being run okay. And so, that includes detention centers,” Stanton said.

However, Stanton was not allowed entrance to the facility due to it having a separate policy that states the need for advanced notice. Stanton noted that the facility’s policy does not overcome federal law.

A father was arrested after he allegedly left his four children in a hot car in the middle of the afternoon on Thursday, authorities said.

Ascencio Largo, 38, is being charged with eight felonies in relation to the investigation, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Onions used to conceal meth in massive Chandler drug bust

Chandler Police discovered nearly 400 pounds of meth hidden in bags full of onions during a traffic stop, authorities said Thursday.
