The U.S. Open of Surfing has made its way back to Huntington Beach this weekend.
Part of the World Surf League’s (WSL) competitive surfing circuit, the U.S. Open of Surfing is the third stop on the WSL Challenger Series. Surfers who qualify during the circuit will have the chance to compete in the Championship Tour, the highest tier of competitive surfing in the world.
The family-friendly event, which started on July 26 and runs until Aug. 3, also included freestyle motocross trick shows on Saturday; there will also be shows on Sunday morning and afternoon.
There will also be a hub for surf lovers set up at the Lexus House, which is open daily while the event takes place. A premium space for attendees to view the competition, there are also food options, an autograph signing opportunity and a chance to see the Lexus Surf LX concept vehicle.
To add to the fun, there is also live music throughout the weekend after the competition wraps up for the day. Common Kings performed on Saturday night, and Sunday sees reggae take over the vibe, with three groups performing over three hours between 4 and 7 p.m.
The best part? Nearly everything is free, meaning the whole family can come out and watch the best surfing in the world right here in SoCal.
