Dallas will be without star rookie Paige Bueckers for this one, as the team has opted to rest her on the first night of a back-to-back. The rookie has more than lived up to her billing as the No. 1 overall pick, and the Wings are likely to struggle with her out of the lineup.
The Wings’ chances on Sunday will rest on the shoulders of Arike Ogunbowale, the team’s best player before Bueckers joined the team. Ogunbowale is having the worst season of her WNBA career, but maybe, pushed back into the role of go-to scorer on Sunday, she’ll be able to dig deep and get the Wings a win.
As for the Aces, Vegas has lost two in a row and looked helpless last time out, losing 109-78 to the Minnesota Lynx. Jewell Loyd was held without a point in the loss. Her shooting struggles have hampered Vegas this season and have put the team in a tough position. Even having arguably the league’s best player, A’ja Wilson, hasn’t saved the Aces, who are now fighting for a playoff spot.
