In celebration of the Tony Award-winning musical “Some Like It Hot,” the Pantages Theatre is partnering with the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles (ADSLA) to offer a unique night out steeped in Jazz Age flair and architectural grandeur.

On Thursday, August 7, at 6:00 p.m., ADSLA members and guests will have exclusive early access to the historic lobby of the Pantages Theatre before doors open to the general public.

The event includes a private lobby tour, a conversation with the show’s wardrobe supervisor, and the chance to see an actual Tony Award-winning costume from the production. Guests will also enjoy access to a no-host bar and ample time to admire and photograph the venue’s lavish Art Deco interiors without the usual crowds.

The event is a nod to both the production’s 1920s setting and the Pantages’ own legacy as one of Los Angeles’ last remaining Art Deco landmarks. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest Jazz Age fashions to complete the experience.

Tickets to the evening’s main event, a performance of “Some Like It Hot” at 7:30 p.m., must be purchased to participate in the pre-show activities. Bundled tickets that include both the show and the ADSLA experience will be available on the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles website for $95 (members) and $98 (non-members).

Those purchasing theater tickets separately through the Pantages or Ticketmaster can still attend the pre-event by purchasing an add-on ticket through ADSLA — proof of purchase for the August 7 performance is required.

Winner of four Tony Awards, including Best Choreography and Best Costumes, “Some Like It Hot” is a high-energy musical adaptation of the classic film. Set in Prohibition-era Chicago, the story follows two musicians who go on the run after witnessing a mob hit.

The show will run at the Pantages Theatre from July 29 through August 17, 2025, but the ADSLA event is a one-night-only offer. According to organizers, seating for the group will be on the lower level, though portions of the pre-show tour may require stair access. Those needing ADA seating are advised to purchase their tickets directly through the Pantages.

“Some Like It Hot” is recommended for ages 12 and up. All attendees, regardless of age, must have a ticket; children under 5 will not be admitted, and minors under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. The production has a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes, including intermission.

Tickets for the event will go on sale soon.
