The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Is Half the Cost of an iPad Right Now

Call it the iPad deal that won’t quit. Even though Apple introduced the iPad A16 in March 2025, it’s been on a near-continuous sale since April, and it remains on sale for $299 today. But $299 is nothing to sneeze at, and that’s as cheap as it gets if you’re committed to an Apple.

But, what if… stay with me here. What if you went off script and ditched the Apple? Yes, even though iPad has become almost synonymous with “tablet,” the way that Kleenex, Uber, and Band-Aid have taken over their respective markets with the omnipresence of their brand names, too, you can get a quality tablet from a major brand for a lot less.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A9+ matches the quality of the iPad, even if the experience is quite a bit different, owing to its Android operating system instead of iPadOS. But it’s on sale right now for $150, down from $220. Would you snub Apple for half the cost?

Samsung’s Galaxy line isn’t just smartphones. The company brands their smartwatches, earbuds, and tablets with the Galaxy moniker, too. The Galaxy Tab A9+ released in October 2023, and it’s still the most current model in the Galaxy Tab A-Series.

The A-Series distinguishes itself from the Galaxy Tab S-Series by being a more affordable, budget-focused tablet, not just on the price tag but in performance, too.

The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10+ are significantly more expensive than the Galaxy Tab A9+, even when it’s not on sale. They’ll run you $449 and $849, respectively, and that’s only their starting prices. If you want more storage, the price goes up from there.

Still, the Galaxy Tab A9+ is more than enough tablet to handle the tasks for which most people use a tablet. Browsing the internet, checking email, and light gaming is well within the capabilities of this affordable tablet, now made even more affordable while this deal is ongoing.
