After years of keeping them away from the public eye, Chad Michael Murray is giving his children a taste of the spotlight.
On July 22, Murray and wife Sarah Roemer brought two of their children to their first-ever red carpet event to celebrate the premiere of the Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday. The couple, who met on the set of a television series in 2013, shocked fans by combining announcing their secret marriage and first pregnancy at the same time in 2015.
As their family continued to grow over the years, Murray and Roemer have remained very protective of their children’s privacy, opting to homeschool their kids and keep their names out of the press.
“I’m really good at staying under the radar these days. My wife and I, we don’t go to the quote-unquote ‘cool’ places,” Murray told Bello Magazine back in May 2015, per E! News. “We have our own life, we have our dogs, we have our lifestyle that we truly enjoy, and we’ve got a cabin if we want to get away and go camping. I feel very good about my private scene. I’m going to do everything I can to protect my family and go from there.”

July 16, 2025: Murray says his family took a vote before planning for a third child. “We weren’t going to have a third child unless everyone was on board, including the kids,” he tells Parade. “And our son wasn’t on board for pretty much the entire time until finally, one day, he goes, ‘I’d like to have a baby in the family,’ And we’re like, ‘Wow, look at that!’”
Murray also says their son is “the best” with his baby sister, adding, “He’s so good all the time with her, and they love each other so much. So that is their norm.”
November 20, 2024: Murray says his family, which he calls “The Pack,” travels with him to every film every project. “I want to be there,” he tells Variety. “I got to be there for my daughter’s first steps. I got to take her trick or treating for the first time.”

May 15, 2023: Murray pays tribute to Roemer on Mother’s Day, crediting the actor for homeschooling their children and “every other mama task you can imagine.”
“My forever dream woman. Happy Mother’s Day to this woman who carry’s this family pack on her shoulders:) You’re our rock mama,” he writes. “We travel the world together and It wouldn’t be possible without you. Homeschooling, pop quizzes, meals and every other mama task you can imagine:)”
He continues, “I never celebrated Mother’s Day growing up because I didn’t have a Mother- but watching the selflessness and sacrifices you make, without ever flinching, blow me away and truly show me why Mothers are like no other. And somehow you do all of it and still look this dang good:) I love you Sarah.”
