(NewsNation) – Astronomer HR chief Kristin Cabot, who was caught on camera at a Coldplay concert with the company’s CEO, has resigned.
Video of the pair, which was originally posted to TikTok, showed the two executives embracing on the venue’s jumbotron. When they realized they were on camera, the couple tried to hide their faces by turning away, sparking allegations of cheating.
In a statement obtained by outlets including CNBC and CNN on Thursday, AI and data company Astronomer said Cabot is no longer part of the staff.
“Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer, she has resigned,” an Astronomer spokesperson confirmed to CNBC.
Andy Byron, the former CEO who was seen with his arms around Cabot at the concert, had resigned Sunday. Astronomer confirmed the news on its LinkedIn page.
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” Astronomer wrote in the announcement.
“Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted,”
Cabot and Byron’s profiles have been removed from Astronomer’s site, the Associated Press reported Friday.
Despite the incident, awareness of the company they previously worked for has only skyrocketed — a fact that Astronomer co-founder Pete DeJoy acknowledged in a post to his LinkedIn page this week.
“The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name,” DeJoy wrote.
The viral clip of the couple caressing at Coldplay’s concert in Massachusetts first went viral last week, racking up millions of views on TikTok. Chris Martin, the band’s lead singer, was actually the first to speculate that the couple was cheating after seeing them hide their faces from the jumbotron camera.
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Martin said, prompting laughs from the audience.
In the days since, several other musicians have poked fun at the incident during their own shows.
“Anybody in here with their side chick, or whatever, I think you’re safe here,” Morgan Wallen joked at a concert in Arizona last week, as seen in video shared to social media.
Country star and “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan also made an apparent reference to the incident during a tour stop in South Carolina, asking the crowd, “Who’s here with their secretary tonight?” before warning of cameras pointed at the audience.
Oasis’ Liam Gallagher, at a show in Manchester, England, also informed the “lovebirds in the house” that there wouldn’t be any cameras pointed at them that night, as seen in a viral clip.
“Don’t worry, we ain’t got any of that,” Gallagher told concertgoers.
