Scheffler looks poised to win his second major title of the year and continue to operate himself as the undisputed best golfer in the world right now as he takes a four-shot lead into Sunday.
Scheffler followed up a 64 on Friday with a 67 on Saturday, and is -14 through three days of play. Another sub-70 score might be all it takes to claim the title during his final round.
Hatong Li is in second place at -10, and Matt Fitzpatrick at -9 represents third place on the leaderboard.
Rory McIlroy might have the best chance to challenge Scheffler on Sunday. After staying in the running through two rounds, he shot an impressive 66 on Saturday to put himself within six shots of the lead. It might take a career day during the final round to catch the number one-ranked player in the world, but McIlroy might have what it takes.
