Last season, the New York Giants had a revolving door at quarterback after deciding to waive Daniel Jones. Despite the disarray under center, numerous prospects still managed to stand out. After showing a lot of promise as a rookie, one of the Giants’ skill players is a player many are expecting to take a big leap in 2025.
Following a strong college career at LSU, the Giants decided to draft wide receiver Malik Nabers with the No. 6 pick in 2024. This move yielded instant results for the franchise, as he was able to quickly raise New York’s floor on offense.
Nabers ended up being one of the league’s top offensive rookies last season. Across 15 appearances, he totaled 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. Naber’s best individual outing of the year came in Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts when he erupted for 171 yards and a pair of TDs.

Heading into his sophomore campaign, Nabers has a chance to see a sizable uptick in production. New York made the QB position a priority in the offseason, acquiring short and long-term options. Along with signing Russell Wilson to a one-year deal, the Giants traded back into the first round of this year’s draft to select Jaxson Dart.
In a recent column for Bleacher Report, Brad Gagnon listed a handful of players who should be viewed as breakout candidates in 2025. With the Giants expected to have upgraded quarterback play, Nabers was among those brought up.
“Russell Wilson might not be the quarterback he once was, but there were signs in Pittsburgh that he can still shine as an NFL starter. That alone beats the heck out of what the Giants got out of their QBs while ranking in the bottom three in terms of team passer rating and yards-per-attempt average in 2024,” Gagnon wrote. “This all bodes well for Malik Nabers, who is still just 21 years old and managed to catch 109 passes for more than 1,200 yards in a seven-touchdown rookie season. What’s scary is how productive he was despite showing plenty of room to grow and despite lacking support both at quarterback and in the receiving corps.”

After showcasing how impactful he can be on the field, defenses are sure to make Nabers a priority this season. Nonetheless, with a QB like Wilson getting him the ball, the Giants wideout should continue to progress into a high-level talent.
