MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Madison County Schools announced that Hazel Green High School got an outdoor sports update.
MCS announced on Thursday that Hazel Green High School got a “first-class” new turf field. This investment is for more than just one sport.
While HGHS has the new turf field for the upcoming season, MCS announced that all five MCSS high schools will be equipped with turf fields!
The projects are already approved and fully funded through the MCSS Capital Plan, the school system said.
“The strong vision of our Superintendent and the steady support of our Board of Education work hand in hand to maximize resources and ensure every investment we make reaches as many students as possible,” MCS wrote.
The capital projects serve grades 7-12 for the following programs:
- Girls flag football
- Boys & girls soccer
- Middle & high school football
- Marching band
These project improvements are also said to help reduce long-term maintenance costs.
“It’s rare to have a facility upgrade that impacts so many students collectively— and that’s exactly what makes this investment so meaningful. Step by step, school by school—big things are taking shape in Madison County Schools. As a district, we are collectively strong— united by vision, strengthened by purpose, and committed to the success of every student,” MCS said.
