Evan Rachel Wood is clearing things up and confirming she will not be part of the Practical Magic sequel in the works
Wood took to social media to address her fans asking if she would reprise her role opposite Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
“I am getting asked about this a lot, so l’ll just clear it up now;I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel. l offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line,” she shared on her Instagram Stories.
She continued, “I was told they are re-casting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.”
Practical Magic 2 is set to be released on September 18, 2026. The sequel is based on the 1998 film directed by Griffin Dunne, which was an adaptation of the 1995 novel by Alice Hoffman.
In the film, Wood played Bullocks’ daughter Kylie. News of Wood not returning to reprise her role comes in the heels of confirmation Dianne West and Stockard Channing would come back for the follow up film.
The new cast additions for the film include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.
