AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) – The 3-year-old boy at the center of a statewide Amber Alert has been found safe, and the man accused of killing the child’s mother and half-sister is now in custody.
According to authorities, Aaron Dontay Williams, 41, was was taken into custody at the Rodeway Inn in Ardmore, Tennessee on Friday, at approximately 7:15 a.m., by the United States Marshals Service, with assistance from the FBI and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Jibreel Harun, 3, was located unharmed.
The Giles County Sheriff’s Office took Williams to the county jail. GCSO said he is being held on a warrant before he is extradited back to Alabama.
The arrest comes just one day after police in Auburn discovered the bodies of Tyeisha Williams, 34, and Zynnya Wright, 13, during a welfare check at a residence on Samantha Court. The investigators say the two were likely killed within 48 hours prior to being found.
The discovery of the double homicide triggered a statewide Amber Alert for Jibreel, the biological son of Aaron and Tyeisha Williams.
Auburn Assistant Police Chief Michael Harris had earlier described the suspect as armed and dangerous, and a $15,000 reward was offered for information leading to his arrest.
