A former high school wrestling coach who was inducted into the California Wrestling Hall of Fame has been re-arrested on allegations of sexual abuse of multiple children.

Ronald Wilson, 72, was arrested earlier this year on allegations that he had a sexual relationship with an underage girl while he was a coach and teacher at Camarillo High School.

Wilson became the subject of an investigation in March, and then was arrested in May as his photo was distributed to the public in an effort to locate additional victims.

Wilson, who worked at the school for nearly 30 years, was released on $120,000 bail after his initial court appearance on May 16.

On Thursday, he appeared in court again, at which point he was re-arrested after investigators identified more victims who he allegedly sexually assaulted while they were students.

He’s since been booked in the Ventura County Main Jail as he awaits charges for forced rape and sexual assault of underage children, including at least one minor under the age of 14.

After retiring, Wilson relocated to Timnath, Colorado. He was inducted into the California Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2022.

Prior to his nearly three-decade teaching career in Camarillo, he taught for at least 13 years at Oxnard High School.

Both schools are part of the Oxnard Union High School District, which released a statement at the time of his May arrest announcing that it was cooperating with law enforcement.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Detective Rico Rinaldi by email or by calling 805-384-4732. Anonymous tips can be provided to We-Tip at 1-800-782-7463 or online at wetip.com.
