A stolen vehicle pursuit suspect is in custody after causing a violent rollover crash in Pasadena that injured at least three people, including a police officer Wednesday evening, police confirmed to KTLA.
At around 6:45 p.m. officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report from the owner of a stolen black Mercedes G-Wagon in the area of Century Boulevard and Figueroa Streets.
A pursuit was initiated after the alleged stolen vehicle suspect failed to yield when officers attempted a traffic stop.
The suspect led police in chase in northbound lanes of the 110 Freeway from the 5 Freeway before eventually exiting onto surface streets and winding their way into Pasadena at high speeds and being struck by another motorist at Foothill and Sierra Madre boulevards.
In exclusive video captured by KTLA reporter Gil Leyvas in Sky5, the G-Wagon can be seen as it’s launched into the air and rolls over several times before being out of the camera frame.
Police said the suspect was taken into custody just moments later.
Just moments before the suspect crashed, at least one patrol cruiser was involved in a collision on Walnut Street east of Hill Street. Authorities have yet to provide any details on how that crash occurred.
Three people, including one police officer were taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.
