G-SHOCK Unveils Samurai-Inspired MRGB2000 “Kurogane-Iro” Timepieces

G-SHOCK expands its premium MR-G lineup with the release of two new models: the MRGB2000BG-3A and MRGB2000RG-3A. Following the “Juryoku-Maru: San” limited edition, these timepieces draw inspiration from kurogane-iro — a deep blue-green hue reminiscent of heated iron used in samurai armor. This striking color is achieved through a deep-layer hardening process and green diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating applied to titanium components, resulting in a finish that’s both bold and refined.

Crafted with precision and rooted in Japanese tradition, both models feature dials framed by fan-like contours and sword-inspired indexes produced using Casio’s nano-processing technology. The MRGB2000RG-3A stands out with a recrystallized titanium bezel that echoes the crystalline patterns of Japanese sword blades. Gold ion-plated accents, Sallaz polishing and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating elevate the watches’ luxurious appeal while ensuring durability and clarity.

Functionality meets artistry with advanced features including Bluetooth® smartphone connectivity, radio-controlled timekeeping, solar-powered movement, and water resistance up to 200 meters. A gold-plated retainer plate within the MR-G module enhances electrical performance, underscoring the brand’s commitment to precision engineering.

The MRGB2000BG-3A features a full titanium band treated with the same DLC coating, while the MRGB2000RG-3A opts for a flexible fluoro-rubber strap embossed with a tortoiseshell pattern symbolizing strength and protection. Both “Kurogane-Iro” MR-G watches are priced at $3,300 USD and are avaiable to shop through G-SHOCK.
