An Orange County man is recovering from what appears to be a brutal head injury suffered from an early morning assault Tuesday.
Details are limited and it’s unclear exactly what happened, but officials with the La Habra Police Department said officers responded to a “fight in progress” near La Habra Boulevard and McPherson Street just after 3 a.m.
At the scene, police found two people, a man and a woman, suffering injuries, both of whom were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
In a photo provided to KTLA by the male victim’s son, his father can be seen in the hospital with at least four staples over a large gash on his head, as well as blood coming from a wound over his left eye. He also appeared to be wearing a neck brace.
The female victim’s condition was not immediately available.
Police said that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the assault and that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding the incident or who may have witnessed the confrontation is urged to contact La Habra Police Department Detective Corporal N. Garcia at 562-383-4388 or the on-duty watch commander at 562-383-4347.
