LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office says two men were arrested after a shooting Monday night.

LCSO said Bradley Joe Hall, 50, of Athens, and Jonathan Clayton Moore, 34, of Athens, are facing attempted murder charges after what authorities are calling a targeted shooting that left one injured and an occupied home hit by gunfire.

The sheriff’s office said on Monday, around 6 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic violence call in the 10,000 block of Poplar Point Road. During that investigation, deputies took a report from Hall, whose vehicle had been damaged during the incident. LCSO said Hall was not involved in the original incident but told deputies that they “better find the offender before him or he would take care of it himself.”

Authorities said Hall later contacted Moore and told him that he intended to kill the person he believed damaged his truck, and Moore agreed to drive Hall to the area where the person lived.

LCSO said that around midnight, Hall and Moore located the person walking down the road. According to the sheriff’s office, Hall proceeded to exit the vehicle and shoot the person in the face, also hitting an occupied home. Authorities said the pair then left the area.

The sheriff’s office said a deputy quickly located the pair’s vehicle and detained Hall, but Moore fled on foot into a nearby cornfield. LCSO said Moore was eventually located in the 13,000 block of Nancy Lou Loop after a search that stretched into Tuesday morning.

“Moore was armed and refused to exit the residence,” the sheriff’s office said. “The Limestone County SWAT Team was deployed, and Moore was safely taken into custody without incident.”

Hall has also been charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, according to authorities.

Both men were taken to the Limestone County Jail, where authorities said their bond had not been set Tuesday evening. LCSO said the victim’s injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
